Ocean's Eleven

Just Mike and Keir, a couple of bros, discussing Steven Soderbergh’s bro-fest, “Ocean’s Eleven.” The star-studded caper just happens to be his eleventh movie, too—what a Soderbergh move to make the stars align like that! It makes us both want to gaze dreamily at the Bellagio fountain…

Keir’s one-sentence summary:

After his release from prison, professional thief Danny Ocean assembles a crew of ten other pros to steal $150 million from three Las Vegas casinos—even though for him it’s not really about the money, but emasculating the casino owner his ex-wife, Tess, has fallen for.

Join us next week on the Filmographers Podcast, when we’ll discuss what Soderbergh did with all the loot from “Ocean’s Eleven.” (Spoiler: he wrote a manifesto and made an art film.)

Don’t forget to subscribe and review! Just try not to be as confused as Rex Reed was when he reviewed “Ocean’s Eleven.”
